Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has made attempts to sign Real Madrid midfielders Isco and Marco Asensio, it has been revealed.
Both Spain internationals are expected to be involved in tomorrow's Champions League final in Kiev.
AS says Klopp rates the pair highly, having tried to sign them for the Reds. Asensio, particularly, was very close to joining Liverpool, with Klopp making two attempts just in the last year.
Real rejected an offer of €50m last summer, while Liverpool have made a fresh attempt over the past month. Just yesterday, Asensio's agent, Horacio Gaggioli, revealed "two Premier League clubs had offered €150m for Asensio". And all signs are that one of the two teams was Liverpool.
Interest in Isco, meanwhile, dates back to when Klopp was still coach of Borussia Dortmund and the midfielder was running around for Malaga.
