REVEALED: Inter Milan close to Conte deal earlier this season

Chelsea face a major battle to keep hold of Antonio Conte beyond the end of this season.

Talk of Conte being "homesick" amid interest from Inter Milan owners Suning has sparked wider club rumours in Italy.

Along with Inter, La Repubblica says AC Milan and Roma are also keeping tabs on Conte's situation.

Chelsea have moved to open new contract talks with the Italian, but little progress has been made.

It's also emerged that Conte came close to moving to Inter in the wake of Frank de Boer's sacking earlier this season. At the time, Conte was struggling to get his message over to his players and there was a belief he could be tempted away from Chelsea.

However, as results improved, Inter saw the door shut on their bid to bring Conte back to Serie A.
