Hull City midfielder Jake Livermore may seek to clear his name after reportedly testing positive for cocaine.
The Hull Daily Mail says Livermore has been suspended by the Tigers and will not feature in the final two games of the season after failing a post-match drugs test.
The maximum penalty which can be imposed for that offence is a two-year ban, but the case is far from straight forward.
It is understood the levels of the drug which were found in his 'A' sample are of a questionable size. It is therefore in his interests to request that his second 'B' sample is also tested, an avenue which he is expected to explore over the coming days.
Should that come back negative, Livermore could quickly clear his name and carry on with his playing career.
