Newcastle United fans are renowned for their loyalty and support but it's a different story when it comes to shirt sales, reports www.fcbusiness.co.uk For it's the capital's football fans that are snapping up the famous black and white stripes.
Figures released by Sports Direct show that it is the London branches of the club's billionaire owner that sell the most NUFC replica shirts, with stores in the capital accounting for almost a third of its Newcastle United shirt sales, the city of Newcastle coming in second with almost 21% of sales.
According to Newcastle fanzine, The Mag, many fans are so fed up with Ashley's running of the club that they even refuse to buy the replica shirts, with sponsor Wonga's presence not helping either.
