Henrikh Mkhitaryan stunned Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel with a text informing him he would be joining Manchester United.
BILD says Mkhitaryan's relationship with Dortmund has broke down rapidly which has left the club disappointed with his behaviour.
Mkhitaryan's representatives had agreed a new contract at the Westfalenstadion, only for the player to text Tuchel a couple of weeks later stating his desire to leave.
The text is alleged to have read: "I go to Manchester United."
On May 23, Mkhitaryan's agent Mino Raiola met with Dortmund chiefs to thrash out terms of a new deal and it is claimed a four-year contract worth £5.75m-a-season was agreed.
But now the Armenian will be joining United for a fee mooted to be €42.5 million.
