The Glazers blocked Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez from moving to Russia last month, it has been revealed.
TMW says with the Russian transfer market still open through February, Rubin Kazan had set up a deal with United for the Mexico international.
Rubin were willing to commit to €10 million for the striker and had settled personal terms with Chicharito's camp over a four-year contract worth €3 million-a-season. Negotiations were so well advanced that Rubin had also agreed various bonuses with agents and intermediaries.
However, in the final days of the Russian transfer window, United pulled the plug on negotiations - with the call coming from the US. No explanation has been offered to Rubin for the decision.
Despite the striker's poor form this season, the Glazers do still rate the commercial value of Chicharito with US and Mexican soccer fans. Though, it's also suggested a superior summer deal with Valencia or Atletico Madrid had been agreed during talks with Rubin Kazan.
