Chelsea striker Diego Costa has entered talks with Atletico Madrid.

Costa, who has openly declared a desire to return to Atletico this summer, is in Madrid this week on national team duty.

And El Mundo Deportivo says his agent, Jorge Mendes, met with Atletico GM Miguel Angel Gil Marin to discuss the striker's situation.

Interestingly, Mendes spoke with Gil Marin having arrived from Italy where he spent time with AC Milan earlier this week.

Given Atletico's summer transfer ban, it's mooted that Mendes is hoping to broker a deal where the Madrid giants sign Costa before loaning him to Milan for the first-half of the season.

For his part, Costa's priority is to return to Atletico.
