REVEALED: David Silva's historic assists stat; 'Man City could match Pep's Barcelona'

Manchester City ace David Silva admits he's desperate for Champions League glory.

City resume their group campaign tonight against Napoli.

Now 31, Silva is yet to win the title, though has tasted success in the World Cup, European Championship and in the Premier League.

“It would be amazing," he said of winning the Champions League this season. “I pray every night to win the Champions League with City. Hopefully we can win this year."

Silva also claimed City could match the great past Barcelona team of manager Pep Guardiola.

“Yes I think so. We are playing really good football, beautiful football, scoring so many goals and creating a lot of chances."

Guardiola described Silva a "City legend" yesterday. The Spaniard has six assists already this season in his central role and has created over 200 chances more than other player in Premier League history.

“I think it's a good position for me," he said. “I love to play in the middle and be in contact with the ball all the time. To create chances you have to be more involved in game so I'm very happy to play in that position."
