Crystal Palace have reportedly made a bid for Lille's Soualiho Meité.
French publication Foot365 is reporting that the Eagles have offered around £6.7million (€8m) for the 22-year-old defensive midfielder.
Meité is currently on loan with Zulte-Waregem and has been in fine form in the Belgian top flight, which has attracted the interest of Palace.
However, the South London club's pursuit of the former France U20 international could be hindered by the fact that Zulte have an agreement with Lille that will allow them to purchase him permanently for a measly €400,000.
Lille are trying to deal with the situation in order to protect themselves and could even pay a fee to Zulte to release Meité from the buy-out clause situation.
Palace will continue to monitor the situation while Stoke City have also been credited with an interest.
