Chelsea striker Radamel Falcao was in Madrid on deadline day.

The London Evening Standard says Falcao was in Madrid in the evening, looking to secure a move back to Spain.

Atletico made an enquiry through agent Jorge Mendes to sign Diego Costa, which included Jackson Martinez going the other way.

But Chelsea had no interest in either selling Costa or in having Martinez join the squad.

It is believed Mendes pitched the possibility to Atletico of making a move for Falcao, who scored 52 League goals for them between 2011-13, instead, but Diego Simeone's side weren't keen.
