Chelsea opposition analyst Xavi Valero's scouting report on Wigan Athletic has made its way to the Daily Mail.
Valero, 39, who worked with manager Rafa Benitez when he was manager of Liverpool, is one of the leading figures in the game in performance analysis.
The former Mallorca keeper has a masters in sports psychology and gained his goalkeeping badges from the Spanish Football Federation. Benitez went through Valero's document line by line with the players on Friday afternoon and used video analysis to help illustrate key tactical points.
The report included a review of the strengths and weaknesses of each Wigan player, a probable formation and predictions of how manager Roberto Martinez would have his team play at Stamford Bridge.
While disappointed to see his report made public, Valero will be delighted with the result - a 4-1 win in Chelsea's favour.
