Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho made a personal call to Paul Pogba last month about leaving Juventus.
L'Equipe says Mourinho called Pogba in August, but was unable to convince the player, who would prefer to move to Real Madrid or Barcelona if he leaves Turin.
Juve also were unwilling to sell, and while there was no official bid from Chelsea, initial talks made it clear that they were not willing to negotiate.
Juve GM Beppe Marotta said this week that €100 million may not be enough for Pogba next summer.
