Brazil made a new attempt for Chelsea midfielder Jorginho last season.

Jorginho won a first competitive cap for Italy in their failed World Cup playoff against Sweden.

And it's been revealed before that game, Brazil's Federation were in contact with Jorginho about a place in Tite's World Cup squad.

UOL says Brazil manager Edu Gaspar made contact with Jorginho about ending his Azzurri commitment and playing for the country where he was born and raised.

But Jorginho turned down the offer, despite the prospect of playing for the Selecao in Russia.
