Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed that the Bundesliga giants once turned down a significant bid for Franck Ribery.
Rummenigge says that back in 2008, Chelsea offered an enormous amount to try and lure the French attacker from Bavaria to West London.
"The offer we had for Franck Ribery in 2008 was almost unbelievable," Rummenigge told German publication Bild.
"However, the decision not to sell Franck Ribery was a milestone in the development of FC Bayern.
"That was the moment in the FC Bayern got to be a 'buying club'."
It is believed that the offer was £56million as well as full-back Jose Bosingwa.
