Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde held crisis talks with Andres Iniesta in the aftermath of Saturday's 2-1 win at Getafe.
With Barca labouring in the first-half, Valverde hooked the captain at halftime - though the official line was the midfielder had collected a knock.
Diario Gol says Iniesta was furious with the decision and refused to hide his anger in the second-half as he watched Barca's fight-back from the dugout.
Valverde was well aware the substitution would prove testing, but had no hesitation making the call. The coach had already told directors over the summer he'd be willing to see Iniesta moved on.
Meanwhile, it's emerged Valverde sat down with Iniesta immediately after his media commitments to go through his decision and why it was made. It's suggested Iniesta did not take things quietly, but Valverde made it clear to the captain that no-one's place is guaranteed this season.
