Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund have agreed terms over a deal for Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
The Telegraph says the Gunners will pay an initial £16m for the Greek international, who would become Unai Emery's second summer signing after landing Stephan Lichtsteiner on a free transfer from Juventus.
Sokratis, 29, will pen a three-year deal at the Emirates.
Arsenal's next priority will be to lock down Aaron Ramsey on a new deal as he approaches the final year of his current contract, with the Welsh star likely to be able to command £200,000 per week.
