Returning Gradel has no intentions of letting down Bournemouth boss Howe

Max Gradel has vowed to repay the faith shown in him by manager Eddie Howe.

Gradel joined Bournemouth in a £7million deal over the summer but a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury back in August has limited the winger to only five appearances for the Cherries so far.

Gradel recently made a return to the pitch by coming on as a substitute during the 0-0 draw against Watford and following the comeback, the 28-year-old has expressed his desire to repay Howe and help the south coast club avoid the drop in their debut Premier League campaign.

He said: "I'm going to give something new and bring some energy to the team. My team-mates have done so well and have been fighting during this season

"It has been hard with the injury. I love the club but the manager was the motivation for me to sign here. I said to myself, 'You have to get back to help this guy because he believes in you and you can't let him down.' He believed in me and when I came back this month people were surprised to see me.

"I showed him he did the right thing by trusting me and letting me go home. I want to repay him."
