Return of Antar boosts Lebanon chances

Lebanon will welcome the return of FC Koln midfielder Roda Antar to the side that lost 3-1 to Vietnam.

Coach Emile Rustom was pleased to have the services of the 28-year old for the clash with Syria at the Saida Municipal Stadium.

"We are able to welcome back the services of midfielder Roda Antar, who missed the game against Vietnam, and his presence will definitely help us in the game both mentally and technically," said Rustom.

Preparation for the match has been paramount for Lebanon as they took part in Thailand's King's Cup last week and Rustom is hoping to get a win to bounce back from the Vietnam defeat.

"We made sure we prepared well for the match because we want to get the three important points," Rustom continued.

"A win will be very important for us as it will bring us back into contention in the group.

"The games that we played in Thailand in the King's Cup helped us to prepare for the match and also the defeat to Vietnam was useful.

"We want to win the match although Syria are strong opponents."
