Retired defender Fabio Cannavaro admits regrets not returning to Napoli.
The 37-year-old Neapolitan announced his retirement on Saturday due to a recurring left knee injury, having played for Napoli, Parma, Inter, Juventus, Real Madrid and Al-Ahli.
"The only blemishes on his record were the time with Inter ruined by fitness problems," agent Gaetano Fedele told Radio Sportiva.
"Then there is the great regret he was not able to end his career at his beloved Napoli. There were some talks and we were at times very close to a deal, but then President Aurelio De Laurentiis made other choices.
"It would've been a move made with the heart by Fabio, but then the Dubai doors opened and this too was a good life experience."
