Republic of Ireland's O'Neill backs exiting Celtic boss Lennon for Premier League

Martin O'Neill believes Neil Lennon will be a success if he chooses to manage in the English Premier League.

The Northern Irishman has left his role as Celtic manager after four successful seasons in Glasgow and may now ponder heading south of the border to try his hand in England's top flight which Hoops legend O'Neill feels is attainable.

"Why shouldn't he be?," O'Neill said when asked if Lennon would be a success in England.

"He has got really good experience now. He has had the experience of managing what I believe is one of the best clubs in the world.

"He has taken that on and that will stand him in great stead for the rest of his career."
