Republic of Ireland national team boss Giovanni Trapattoni is very keen on the idea of bringing in Irish-Americans to his plans.

The Italian tactician recently requested a list of all players in North America with Irish sounding surnames as well as a list from MLS of those players who have Irish ancestry.

The Irish Voice reports that Trapattoni has also thrown up the idea of visiting the US next summer to hold Irish team training camps and exhibition matches in a bid to find some talent in America that can represent Ireland at international level.
