Nigel Reo-Coker says Aston Villa is in the right hands with manager Martin O'Neill.
The midfielder told Villa's website: "Villa have taken off this season and the fans have been fantastic.
"There is so much detail to go into to say he has one main factor.
"He is a very complex man and a very intelligent man and at times you have to step back to get a better view of what he is doing.
"His philosophy has always been to build a side. Sometimes it is difficult to keep players together when they are shining and a bigger club comes in with an offer.
"But it is down the player's discretion whether he feels like moving or to stay at the club.
"Here at Villa we have great team spirit. There are no bad apples or bad eggs so to speak. Everyone gets on well together.
"There is no negativity. It is a quiet dressing room but it is a hard-working dressing room."
