Reo-Coker denies criticising Vancouver Whitecaps coach Rennie

Former Aston Villa and West Ham United midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker has been caught out by the media at Vancouver Whitecaps.

Reo-Coker denies criticising Caps coach Martin Rennie when praising Real Salt Lake during the week.

He told the Vancouver Sun: "It makes me kind of look at things differently for how I am in the media.

"For me, maybe, I'm a bit too honest. It has put me in a way now where I think I might have to re-analyze how I speak to the media. It has kind of upset me.

"I don't think there's anything wrong with admiring another, their style of football, how they play.

"I didn't refer them to us. I didn't criticize our tactics. I didn't criticize (Rennie). We're all behind the gaffer. We weren't at the races. They were a better team.

"I did the same stuff when I was in England. There's nothing wrong when you play Manchester United or Arsenal and you say 'they're a good team, they play good football, they've got a good system. And they've got that desire and will to win.'"
