Rennie: Ousted has started Vancouver Whitecaps career as well as you could hope

Vancouver Whitecaps head coach Martin Rennie believes goalkeeper David Ousted has kicked off his career at the club in fine style.

The 28-year old Danish gloveman, who landed in Vancouver in June after leaving Randers, has made two appearances for the Canadian club since arriving.

His debut came in last week's 1-1 draw with Portland Timbers but he was on song in keeping a clean sheet in Saturday's 2-0 home win over San Jose Earthquakes which delighted Rennie.

"I thought he did really well," Rennie said following the match. "He kicked the ball very well. I thought he was calm under pressure and I thought he made two excellent saves that made a big difference to us winning the game.

"Those kinds of saves win you games and win you points. He gave us a great foundation to build from. ... I think he's started off his Whitecaps career as well as you could possibly hope."
