Rennes mediators saw Pitroipa's Stoke move fall over

Jonathan Pitroipa has absolved his agent from any blame regarding his failed transfer to Stoke City on deadline day.

The Rennes winger was close to joining the Potters on loan for the remainder of the season with the view to a permanent deal but said mediators from his French club were unsuccessful in their negotiations, not his agent.

"Contrary to what has been said, it was not due to my agent that I didn't join Stoke, but due to intermediaries appointed by Rennes on that case," the Burkina Faso international told L'Equipe.
