Rennes have signed Carlos Bocanegra on a free transfer following his release from Fulham last month.

The 29-year-old has penned a three-year deal with Guy Lacombe's men, according to L'Equipe.

Bocanegra, the USA captain, made 116 starts for Fulham in a four-year stay but was not offered a new contract by Roy Hodgson despite playing a part in the club's escape from relegation.
