Rennes coach Christian Gourcuff has decided a deal for Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard is off.

Odegaard was seen watching a Stade Rennais Ligue 1 match a fortnight ago.

Marca reports Gourcuff has in the end decided against the possible move, with sporting director Mikaël Silvestre on his way out of the club.

Recently turned 18 and thus eligible for an official transfer, Real will have to continue to look for a team for one of their most promising young players.
