Flamengo star Renato Augusto admits he fancies a move to Manchester United.

Renato, rejecting interest from Olympique Lyon last week, said, "I cannot consider joining a club that can't compete for the Champions League. French clubs, with the exception of Marseille, have won nothing in Europe.

"It's true Lyon can be a springboard for Brazilians like Juninho and Fred, but the president of Lyon is very difficult in negotiations and wouldn't let me leave."

In the same interview, Renato nominated Manchester United, along with AC Milan and Real Madrid, as "truly great clubs" and ones that he'd like to play for.

Meanwhile, the teenager also revealed that his sponsor, Carlos Leite, had received contact from several European clubs - including Newcastle United and Chelsea.
