Hull City are not willing to part with their top players despite their relegation to the Championship.
Hull are expected to go through a cost-cutting scheme at the club this summer following their relegation from the Premier League.
While the Tigers will be forced to let some big name players go in order to balance the books, vice-chairman Ehab Allam – the son of owner Assem Allam – has stated that he is intent on keeping hold of the core players to manager Steve Bruce's plans.
"The aim is to bounce straight back into the Premier League and to do that we need our top players. The relegation clauses give us that opportunity," Allam told the Hull Daily Mail.
"The major challenge for me is to maintain the core of the squad that we have. There is interest in players who we want to keep. That is key for us, keeping them. I am hoping for very little change because we want to bounce back and regain promotion.
"Every single player has a relegation clause in their contract and you can imagine some of the bigger players on bigger wages won't be as happy to take the hit when they have an alternative at a club in the Premier League for example.
"They may look elsewhere. But we have the core of the squad who got us promoted, with a few more years experience plus a few more added to that squad, Harry Maguire and Tom Ince for example. Ideally for us we will retain the core of the squad. We know that is tough, but that's the intention."
