Released Sunderland defender Wes Brown isn't ready to hang up the boots.

The Sun says Brown has been given a surprise chance to join Owen Coyle's new-look Blackburn.

The former Manchester United and Sunderland defender is looking for a club after leaving Sunderland and will link up with Rovers for pre-season training this week.

Club and player plan to look each other over and discuss how he fancies a season in the Championship.

Brown, 36, has had fitness issues but is eager to continue playing.
