Former Stoke striker Vincent Pericard has been offered the chance of a contract by Championship Cardiff. The 26-year-old featured as a substitute in the Bluebirds' friendly defeat by Valencia on Saturday and earned a penalty in the second half.
"Vincent's done a pre-season at Stoke, but then he didn't play the games," said boss Dave Jones.
"They released him, but Tony Pulis rang us up to say to take a look and we will do that.
"He's been out a long time with a ruptured Achilles and there's no harm in looking at someone on a free.
"We're helping him and he might help us if we decide he's right for us. If he wins a penalty every week I'll sign him!"
