Released Manchester City midfielder Patrick Vieira has turned down the chance to be Tony Adams' No2 at Gabala FC.
The Daily Star Sunday says Vieira, 35 on Thursday, has rejected the offer of teaming up with ex-England defender Adams, who is currently boss at Azerbaijan Premier League side Gabala.
"Patrick is very keen on moving into coaching but a move to such a far-flung footballing outpost doesn't appeal, even if it is with his old mate Tony," said a source.
Vieira is weighing up his options, including the chance to either return to Arsenal as a coach or play with former Gunners team-mate Thierry Henry at MLS outfit the New York Red Bulls.
