Released AC Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong has signed with LA Galaxy.

The Dutch midfielder terminated his contract with the Rossoneri on deadline day.

“The LA Galaxy have acquired Dutch midfielder Nigel de Jong using Targeted Allocation Money," the American side confirmed.

“De Jong, a two-time FIFA World Cup veteran, joins after most recently featuring for Manchester City and A.C. Milan."

Galaxy Coach Bruce Arena also spoke to the website to welcome the former Manchester City man to the squad.

“Nigel is an experienced midfielder who will help the players around him get better.

“He will add qualities on the field that can strengthen our team in all areas. We look forward to Nigel coming to Los Angeles and joining our club."
