Released AC Milan defender Legrottaglie keen to hear from Catania

Released AC Milan defender Nicola Legrottaglie is keen to hear from Catania.

The veteran defender, 35, is currently a free agent after Milan opted against handing him a new contract last June.

"I don't know about Catania, but I am open to anything and I wouldn't say no if they were interested," he told Itasportpress.it.

"I won't exclude any offer, especially from a Serie A club, but, before anything happens, I have to receive a call."

Catania are looking for a new centre-back after they sold Matias Silvestre to island rivals Palermo.

"At the minute I am just training on my own in order to be ready," continued the former Juventus stopper.

"After 20 years of pre-season training, this is a new experience for me as I'm not part of a squad with teammates.

"I'm doing fine though because I am convinced that something gratifying will come at the end of it. Something important will arrive before August 31."
