Lazio boss Edy Reja says a top four finish is their goal this season.
The Rome club leapt into second place on Sunday and, as leaders Udinese travel to Napoli on Wednesday night, could find themselves top if they beat Catania.
"It is certainly a test of our maturity," conceded Reja. "When you look like an important side and notch up the results we've achieved, consistency is crucial. Even in difficulties, when chopping and changing due to injury, the team was still exceptional.
"The results have not always been comforting, especially in the Europa League, but in terms of performance and chances created, we have done very well so far.
"The Scudetto? My hope is that we can reach the Champions League. The President spent a lot of money to bring in quality players, then we'll have to see where we are at the end of the season.
"I can't say where we could end up, but I'd like this team to surprise everyone."
