Lazio coach Edy Reja is delaying new contract talks.
Reja wants to wait until the summer before opening negotiations.
Reja's agent Marko Naletilic said: "What was agreed before is still valid, but Reja wants to understand if there are the conditions to stay in Rome.
"There are no complications. The President offered a contract some months ago and Reja has given his complete openness. There is an agreement that he will extend in May.
"Things have been badly interpreted by the Press. Reja wanted to postpone everything until May because he wants to understand if there are the right conditions for him and for the club.
"But no problems exist between the Coach and the President. We'll see where Lazio get to at the end of the season. If both are happy there will be no problems."
Asked if Reja's new contract is contingent upon Lazio qualifying for the Champions League, Naletilic said: "Absolutely not. I rule it out.
"Sunday's defeat changes nothing. We'll see what happens in May. The most important thing is that Lazio finish as high as possible in the table."
