Liverpool expect to beat Manchester United on Sunday, insists goalkeeper Pepe Reina.

"United are a top team but we certainly have a lot of confidence about Sunday now," said Reina, more of an observer than a participant in Liverpool's latest cup recovery. "We know we have to be ready for them but it could be a beautiful game in front of our own supporters and we expect to win.

"We have one of the best teams in Europe, although there are some very tough teams in the Premier League and it's a lot more difficult this year. We saw against Reading last week [when Liverpool lost 3-1] that anyone can beat anyone else at the moment. Chelsea, Arsenal and United are all in really good form and it is very difficult to finish ahead of them in the long term. But it is a long race and we want to keep the momentum going that we have with us again."
