Andy Reid has urged Sunderland fans not to panic after their disappointing home defeat to Portsmouth.

Reid, who made his first Sunderland start for six games, said: "The early part of this season was always going to be difficult. We've a lot of new players who need to gel, but we're getting there and with more consistency we can be formidable."
