Sunderland midfielder Andy Reid insists his latest Ireland snub will not affect him.
Although he remains hopeful of nudging his way back into the international reckoning - and watched Ireland's 2-0 reverse against Brazil - he says the Black Cats come before proving a point to the stern Italian.
"My motivation is at Sunderland. I motivate myself to go out on the pitch and play well for Sunderland," he told the Sunday Sun.
"I believe that if I'm doing the right things for Sunderland and playing well for them, the Ireland thing will probably take care of itself.
"I have all the motivation I need at Sunderland and I can't really do anything else about Ireland. Sunderland has to come first."
