West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke has revealed that Steven Reid recently played 45 minutes of top flight football with a broken leg.
The 31-year old right-back spent a half of football against Arsenal last month playing with a fractured fibula prior to returning to the pitch in the FA Cup against QPR last week in what is a remarkable show of strength and commitment.
"We didn't release the injury but it was a fractured fibula he got against Arsenal," Clarke said ahead of the weekends West Midlands derby with Aston Villa.
"He played for 45 minutes with a broken leg, which shows the character of the boy.
"I've put it out there because I want people to see the character of the boy.
"Sometimes people think 'Steven is always injured' but he has an incredible strong mental strength and he wants to play."
