Reid happy with first days at Sunderland

Andy Reid is delighted with his first days at Sunderland.

The former Charlton Athletic and Tottenham midfielder told his club's website: "Everyone has been brilliant with me, it's a really nice training ground and I've settled in well.

"But it's all about on the pitch and getting out there and doing the business.

"The lads I know here will help me get settled in, they've already told me about the club."

Reid, an Ireland international, hopes to act as a play-maker in Sunderland's team.

He said: "My main job is to create chances, to keep play flowing and to chip in with a goal or two.

"I feel I can play anywhere across the middle, but I like playing central midfield. I just love playing football so I'll play anywhere I'm told."
