Reid: Blackburn Euro hopes on-track

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Steven Reid is convinced they can crack Europe again this season.

"We could have done with winning the game in the race for Europe," said Reid, reflecting on their 0-0 draw with Everton. "We know we'll need to start beating the teams around us if we are to nick a top-six place.

"Hopefully, we'll do that over the next few weeks.

"Fourth place is still our aim while the gap is as it is, but the minimum target is sixth and the UEFA Cup. We've gone seven games unbeaten now and if we carry on like that, I'm sure we'll be there.

"We've shown we deserve to be there by drawing against two teams around us (Everton and Aston Villa) over the last week or so. Now we have to step it up again when we go to Arsenal next week.

"That's going to be tough, but then we have a run of games we'll be looking to win."
