Former Sunderland manager Peter Reid could be in line to return to the Black Cats, 12 years after his last tenure at the club, according to reports.
The Daily Express is reporting new Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce is eager to add Reid to his coaching staff as he attempts to prevent the club from being relegated this season.
Reid enjoyed a successful seven-year spell as manager of the Black Cats between 1995 and 2002.
The 59-year-old is said to be interested in the opportunity to reunite with Allardyce, whom he played alongside at Bolton Wanderers.
