Newcastle Jets today announced the re-signing of promising defender Taylor Regan.
The 22-year old centre-half has signed a fresh two-year deal with the Jets, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2012/13 A-League season.
Regan debuted in Week 10 of the current season and has since made nine starts, impressing in his role alongside Nikolai Topor-Stanley.
A Dudley Redhead junior, Regan was delighted to commit himself to his home club.
"I am excited to have signed with the club for the next 2 years. Being a local boy from Dudley Redhead I am really proud to be representing my home City," Regan said.
Jets CEO John Tsatsimas added: "Taylor formed a key part of our youth team in 2009 and led the side by example as skipper. It is also great to see local Newcastle talent is forging a pathway into our A-League squad and that he is playing the football that we know he is capable of."
Newcastle today landed in Melbourne as they prepare for Wednesday night's clash with the Victory at Etihad Stadium.
