Liverpool's summer arrival Danny Ings scored a hat-trick as the Reds eased past Malaysian side Felda United to a 7-0 pre-season victory at Kuala Lumpur's Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Wednesday.

Manager Brendan Rodgers requested to turn an open training session in front of 5,000 supporters into a match of two 30-minute periods.

Liverpool opened the scoring after just four minutes through youngster Pedro Chirivella.

Lazar Markovic doubled their lead with a brilliantly taken lob, before youth graduate Sheyi Ojo made it 3-0 before half-time.

After the break, Ings scored a quick brace before Joao Teixeira added his name to the scoresheet with a sensational 40-yard chip.

Ings completed his hat-trick with the last kick of the match to make it 7-0.
