Newly appointed Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson believes he will be able to cope with the added pressure that comes with wearing the captain's armband at the Merseyside club.
Henderson was promoted to the role following the departure of long-term Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard to MLS champions LA Galaxy.
Despite having the unenviable task of filling the void left by an Anfield legend, Henderson is confident he will do satisfactory job.
"When the manager told me I would be captain, it was a huge honour," Henderson said from the club's pre-season tour in Kuala Lumpur.
"It was a bit of a shock really.
"I know there will be more fingers pointed at me during the season if things don't go according to plan but that is part and parcel of football. I can deal with that. I have dealt with a lot worse."
