Southampton's goal-scoring hero Nathan Redmond says that the entire south coast club is buzzing following the 1-0 success over Liverpool in the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-final.
The 22-year-old proved to be the match-winner for his side as he scored the only goal of the game in the 20th minute, ahead of the return bout at Anfield on January 25.
"All the boys are delighted. We're buzzing with the clean sheet. Every single player worked hard for it and to come away with the win is a massive step going forward," Redmond told Southamptonfc.com.
"We can't deny it's been a sticky period since Christmas, but we've stuck in there.
"Even today, people were smashing into challenges and everyone gave their all.
"It just shows that we're sticking together and we're fighting to get through it.
"It was good to hear the fans behind us again, as they have been every step of the way this season."
