Jamie Redknapp admits it would be a great thrill to watch Renato Sanches in the Premier League each week.
The 18-year-old Portugal midfielder was signed by German giants Bayern Munich from Benfica earlier this summer and Redknapp feels it is a crying shame the young gun will not be running around the stadiums of England after being heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.
Writing in his column for the Daily Mail, Redknapp opined: “I wish Sanches played here!
Renato Sanches has been an absolute sensation for Portugal and is without doubt my young player of the tournament.
“You only have to look at his superb left-foot goal against Poland to know that the 18-year-old is going to be a brilliant player for many years to come.
“I'm just gutted that he's gone to Bayern Munich as I'd have loved to see the midfielder in the Premier League!"
