Harry Redknapp believes Brendan Rodgers needs a top four finish next season to be sure of his Liverpool future.

QPR boss Redknapp, who himself was sacked by Tottenham last summer after guiding them to two second consecutive top-four finishes, knows Rodgers will have to buck his ideas up.

He said: "It's a great club and Brendan has good players, but they have not had a great season this year. To finish behind Everton and be out of the top six is not good for Liverpool, but next year they will be expected to be up there challenging for a top-four position."
