Former Tottenham star Jamie Redknapp feels his old club should allow Gareth Bale to move to Real Madrid.

Redknapp wrote in the Daily Mail: "You cannot blame him.

"Bale has become a big fish in a smaller pond at Tottenham. I don't mean that disrespectfully to Spurs, but how can anyone turn down a club as big as Real Madrid?

"He clearly feels it is too good an opportunity to pass up, especially the chance to become the world's most expensive player. Bale knows he has outgrown the club. He's too good to play for a team that finishes fifth and will be back in the Europa League this season, instead of the Champions League."
